    TramlineTEC Ltd is a UK‑based engineering business specialising in weighing, control and retrofit solutions for mobile machinery.


    Founded in 2021 by engineer Tom Carnell, the company focuses on practical problem‑solving—combining on‑board weighing, ISOBUS control and custom engineering to keep machines working efficiently in the field, quarry or yard.

Who we are

TramlineTEC Ltd was created when Tom set up on his own in May 2021 after many years working with agricultural and industrial machinery.

The business started with agricultural equipment—building, maintaining and troubleshooting machines—and quickly expanded into quarrying, waste and recycling, rail and other sectors as suppliers and customers asked for help with new technologies.


Today around half of TramlineTEC Ltd's work is still in agriculture, with the rest spread across mixed fleets, hire companies and specialist applications, and that non‑agricultural side is continuing to grow.


About Tom Carnell​

Tom is a hands‑on engineer with more than 25 years of experience in mobile equipment electronics, hydraulics and control systems.


  • Background and qualifications

    • National Diploma in Agricultural Engineering

    • Higher National Diploma in Agriculture

    • NFPC Hydraulics, plus a range of manufacturer and industry courses

  • Experience

    • Working with control systems, ISOBUS and weighing technology since 1998

    • Previously involved with companies such as RDS Technology, DICKEY‑john, Burkert Fluid Control Systems and HYDAC​

  • Current roles

    • UK distributor for VEI on‑board weighing systems and Farmscan products

    • Design and installation of control systems and custom machinery for agriculture and industry

TramlineTEC Ltd is built around practical engineering, clear communication and long‑term reliability rather than one‑off fixes.

Mixing mechanical and electronic expertise

Because we work with hydraulics, fabrication, sensors, ECUs and software, we can take responsibility for the whole system instead of handing you between different contractors.

Problem‑first thinking

We start by understanding what is happening on the machine and what you are trying to achieve, then design a solution that fits your workflow rather than forcing you into a standard kit.

Support beyond installation

We provide calibration, training and follow‑up support, with tools like Zoho helping us schedule annual checks and keep your weighing and control systems performing as they should.

Manufacturers & partners

We work with a carefully chosen group of manufacturers whose products we trust to perform in demanding environments, and where we have the training and experience to support them properly.

We are authorised to distribute and support key product lines from VEI and Farmscan and have completed formal product and approval training where required
